The Patsy DeCline Show
Patsy DeCline is, of course, one of the alter egos of Denver's talented Lannie Garrett, who seems just as comfortable crooning smokey ballads as she is belting out big band favorites, or, in this case, putting her own stamp on one of America's most popular musical genres—Country and Western.
 | Lannie Garrett horsing around as Patsy DeCline | What's most notable about Garrett's saloon routine is the absolute joy she gets from satirizing the emotional excesses and cultural lowlights of the drowning-my-sorrows-in-beer set. Unlike the demure chanteuse of her "Slick Chick on the Mellow Side" and her nostalgic journeys for the swing set, Garrett's DeCline is an over-sexed extroverted bar queen with a pick-up line for every occasion and a series of sad tales that keep the audience laughing the whole evening.
As DeCline describes it, "This show has grossed millions. Made no money, but grossed millions."
 | Lannie Garrett as Patsy DeCline | Patsy DeCline is backed up by her hot 5-piece band: Justin Adams, piano; Dan Jones/Tom Broderick, pedal steel; Mike Abbott, guitar; Robin Ruscio, bass guitar; and Larry Ziehl, drums, performing time-honored C&W classics from the songbooks of Merle Haggard, Hank Williams, George Jones, Tammy Wynette, and more, including some campy parodies of some of the treasured chart toppers of the past.
The Patsy DeCline Show opens on Saturday, Feb. 8th at 8pm and continues Saturdays through April 19th at Lannie's Clocktower Cabaret, the 16th Street Mall at Arapahoe Street, lower level. 303-293-0075 or book your reservations online at www.lannies.com.
